We are so excited to introduce, Sadie, the owner of Vivi + Kay to you!
We are absolutely in love with Vivi + Kay headbands + have formed quite the little collection between the three of us ( LOL Nellie included ).
Sadie's, headbands are the softest we've ever felt + hold their shape beautifully -- even after a run through the wash.
While planning our go-to essentials for the blooming market, Vivi + Kay headbands were a must!
When did you start your Vivi + Kay?
I officially launched in August of 2015.
What inspired you to start Vivi + Kay?
I was a SAHM and was also taking care of my disabled father. It started out with making two headbands for my daughter's Easter outfits + when I got great feedback from family + friends I decided to open an Etsy shop + to try + bring a little extra income for my family!
Tell us about your products + the process behind the final product.
We offer four different styles, three sizes, + an array of colors and patterns to choose from! Each headband is cut, sewn, tied, + packaged solely by me!
Your fabric is unreal. Where do you source from?
The fabric type is double brushed polyester. I have many different suppliers. I’ve discovered many fabric shops through Etsy!
What do you enjoy the most about owning your own business?
I love that this business shows my creative side. But what I love most is the relationships I have made with other female business owners.
What ( if any ) challenges do you face while trying to balance business, family, + you time?
When you’re a business owner, you tend to have business on the brain 90% of the time, so I’ve made it a point to only work certain hours of the day + leave the weekends for family time.
You learn so much about yourself when starting/owning a business - what is something you’ve learned about yourself personally + professionally?
I’m an introvert, but this business has definitely opened me up. Before starting this business, I would have never taken a selfie or drawn any sort of attention to myself. I’ve learned that I no longer care about being judged + I’m having so much fun!
What about your business are you most excited about for the future? What goals do you have for Vivi + Kay?
I just want to continue to grow. You can find my headbands in 4 stores currently + I would love to expand to outside of New England.
Anything else you might want to share?
For anyone starting a business, you just have to believe in yourself. The key is to not give up when you have a setback. It's taken me 5+ years to get where I am + I wouldn’t be here, doing what I love, if I had given up all those times things didn’t go my way.
Vivi + Kay headbands can now be found in our blooming market.
